Fairtrade Church cafe

On Sunday 10th March 2019 we held a Church Cafe with our friends from St Mary's Church, Pilton. The focus of our all aged worship was centred on Fairtrade Fortnight 2019 and what this means for us as a community. The children from Pilton Bluecoat Academy led the congregation in prayer,  performed a drama, shared a film they had made highlighting the issues surrounding farmers and communities overseas. Mrs Tewkesbury spoke with the congregation about Fairtrade and led everyone in a moment of reflection where adults and children had the opportunity to write their prayers on cocoa pods and place them on a tree which was displayed in the school hall. The whole event was very successful with over 75 adults and children from the community attending the service.A collection took place and raised £107 for the charity. Fairtrade refreshments were then served and enjoyed at the end of the service description for this photo album.
