Fairtrade Church Cafe

On Sunday 10th March 2019 we held a Church Cafe with our friends from St Mary's Church, Pilton. The focus of our all aged worship was centred on Fairtrade Fortnight 2019 and what this means for us as a community. The whole event was very successful with over 75 adults and children from the community attending the service. The children from Pilton Bluecoat Academy led the congregation in prayer, performed a drama, shared a film they had made highlighting the issues surrounding farmers and communities overseas. Mrs Tewkesbury spoke with the congregation about Fairtrade and led everyone in a moment of reflection where adults and children had the opportunity to write their prayers on cocoa pods and place them on a tree which was displayed in the school hall. A collection took place and raised £107 for the charity. Fairtrade refreshments were then served and enjoyed at the end of the service
