Planetarium Visit

"Out of this World"

This week the Mobile Planetarium came to visit Pilton Bluecoat for the day.  Each year group was given a time slot of around 60-80 minutes and were taken into the dome to learn about space.

They looked at constellations, planets, solar signs, galaxies, the difference between night and day.

They learned about Neil Armstrong and other astronauts, they saw the NASA space station and how the UK made part of a rocket sent to space.  They learnt that there are currently in astronauts in space at this moment in time and future space trips that are planned.

They even witnessed an asteroid coming straight towards earth!

The children were blown away by the information and how small we are compared to the whole universe.
