Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been absolutely lovely to welcome the children back after half-term. They have been incredible in how quickly and positively they have settled back into school life, showing real enthusiasm and pride in their learning.
This week in Collective Worship, we focused on our value of Peace and Forgiveness. The children were exceptional in sharing their thoughts, reflections, and demonstrating maturity, empathy, and respect for one another. This learning continued into our OPAL Collective Worship, where the children worked with Ms Halpin to explore what peace and forgiveness look like during playtimes. It has been wonderful to see these values lived out across the school, both in classrooms and on the playground.
Around the school, children have been incredibly engaged in their learning. This was especially evident during this weeks LGB visits, where it was a pleasure to see pupils working hard, persevering, and being so well supported by our staff. The visits highlighted how focused and purposeful the provision is for our pupils, and how deeply they engage with their learning journey.
We also hope your child came home excited with their “Ticket to the Moon”! For those parents and carers who gave permission, your child’s name will be saved onto an SD card and taken aboard a shuttle next week that will travel around the Moon. The ticket allows children to track the mission, making this a truly memorable and inspiring experience linked to their learning.
As part of our commitment to Building Brighter Futures, our Year 5 children enjoyed a fantastic live Zoom meeting this week with their German friends in Berlin. They shared questions, ideas, and stories about life here at Pilton Bluecoat Academy. It was a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange, and we are very much looking forward to the curriculum work that will grow from this partnership.
On Saturday we are holding a Jumble Sale here at school. It is the perfect opportunity to pick up a bargain.
Finally, a reminder that attendance is incredibly important to us. Being in school every day allows children to build strong routines, develop friendships, and make consistent progress in their learning. Even small amounts of missed time can have a significant impact over the course of a year. We really value your continued support in ensuring children attend regularly and arrive on time, helping them to get the very best from their education.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support.
Warm regards,
Mathew Harts
