Dear Parents and Carers,
What a fantastic and busy week it has been at Pilton Bluecoat! There has been so much happening across the school, and it has been wonderful to see our children taking part in such a wide range of learning experiences.
On Monday, our Year 6 children took part in a fantastic Indian workshop, which links directly to their current curriculum learning. Throughout the day, the children learnt and performed traditional Indian dances and also created some beautiful Indian-inspired artwork. It was a fun and engaging experience that truly helped bring their classroom learning to life. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and represented the school brilliantly.
A big well done also goes to the children who took part in the TEAM Cross Country event. They were wonderful ambassadors for the school, showing commitment, determination and fantastic teamwork throughout the event. We are very proud of the effort and resilience they demonstrated.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to one of our parents who works for the local police force, who kindly arranged a two-day visit from the police. During the visit, officers spoke to the children about their important work within the community. The children had the exciting opportunity to see the police car with its lights and sirens, hear the roar of the engine, and even learn about the drone technology used by the police. Experiences like this help our children understand the important role that police officers play in working positively with communities and keeping people safe.
Thank you also to Mr Hick and our Digital Champions, who led a very informative Internet Safety Day assembly. This year there was a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how we can use technology safely and responsibly.
I would also like to thank all the families who attended the recent Family Meetings. These are such an important opportunity for us to connect together, talk about how children are progressing, discuss life both at school and at home, and work in partnership to support the next steps for every child.
Across TEAM Multi Academy Trust, a letter will soon be sent to families regarding the need for confirmation of appointments (such as doctors or dentists) when children are absent from school. As a school and Trust, we must monitor attendance very carefully, not only in relation to education but also in safeguarding children’s rights. Being in school regularly is vital for children’s welfare, wellbeing and educational progress, and we appreciate everyone working closely with us to support this.
To finish, I would like to say that we have received many positive comments from families recently, and we are extremely grateful for your support. We understand that life is not always easy, but the staff at Pilton Bluecoat work incredibly hard to ensure that your children receive the very best opportunities, experiences and care, helping them become the best version of themselves.
Thank you for your continued support.
