Dear Parents and Carers,
There has been such a noticeable difference this week with the sun making an appearance, there is definitely a real feel-good factor across the school! It has been wonderful to see the children making the most of the outdoor spaces, enjoying dancing in the sun with the new boombox, getting creative with chalk, building dens, and engaging so positively in the outdoor learning area. These moments really matter, they support wellbeing, friendships, and a love of being in school.
This week, we were also delighted to host six trainee teachers from SWIFT Teacher Training across two days. During their time with us, they took part in professional training, observed our teachers, taught sessions, and received feedback from teachers to support their development. Alongside this, the provision was quality assured, and we were incredibly proud of the feedback received. Both trainees and the assessor commented on what a supportive school this is, highlighting the strong culture that is evident throughout.
Whether it is the children we teach, the families we work alongside, or the trainee teachers we support, our aim is always the same: to work relationally and professionally to ensure that everyone who is part of our school community has the very best opportunities to succeed. Thank you for continuing to support us in this.
I would also like to say how fantastic the Year 6 Dance Festival was. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and represented the school brilliantly.
In addition, thank you for your support with Red Nose Day. There were some incredible contributions, and events like this are so important. They help children understand the value of giving, community, and supporting others beyond our own school.
Uniform Expectations
We are very slightly, updating our school uniform policy and will update you shortly. Recently, we have seen an increase in children wearing trainers and clothing (especially shorts) that does not align with our expectations. Our uniform is important, it helps create a sense of belonging, pride, and equality across the school. It also ensures that children are dressed appropriately for learning and school activities. We appreciate your support in ensuring that all children come to school in the correct uniform each day.
Attendance
Attendance remains broadly in line with national figures; however, there are still some gaps. Good attendance is crucial for children’s learning, progress, and wellbeing. We know that there can sometimes be challenges, and we are here to support. Please do reach out to us if there is anything we can do to help, working together makes a real difference.
Finally, enjoy the sunshine this weekend, perhaps it’s time to get the BBQs out! We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday.
Warm regards,
Mathew Harts
