Building Brighter Futures

Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our vision of Building Brighter Futures, we continue to reflect on and strengthen the opportunities we provide for every child, both academically and personally.

This week, we were pleased to welcome an external inspector into school to support and validate our direction. It was fantastic to hear such positive feedback about our approaches to teaching and learning, as well as the strong behaviours and attitudes demonstrated by our pupils. In particular, the inclusive support for children with SEND was recognised as a real strength of the school.

The inspector also spent time observing lunchtime provision, where the inclusivity, kindness and support that children show towards one another really stood out. With this in mind, we continue to place a strong emphasis on supporting pupils with their social and emotional development. You can really help us with this at home by talking with your children about how they manage “big feelings,” which can sometimes lead to “big behaviours.” This shared approach between home and school helps us embed the relational practice that is central to our ethos.

A huge well done to our Rock Steady bands for their incredible performance this week. The teamwork, confidence and creativity on display were truly impressive. You put on a fantastic show and made us all very proud!

Another big congratulations goes to our Year 6 children who took part in the indoor athletics competition. You represented the school brilliantly and showed great enthusiasm and determination throughout.

We are also continuing to develop our outdoor play provision. This week, we introduced trikes and basketball hoops, with even more exciting additions planned. It has been wonderful to see how engaged and active the children have been during playtimes.

To help us enhance this provision further, we would be incredibly grateful for any donations you may be able to offer. We are particularly looking for:

  • Hot Wheels cars or tracks
  • Plastic jugs and cups
  • Lego
  • Dolls houses
  • A Wendy house

We regularly meet with children to gather their ideas, and these resources will make a real difference to their play experiences.

Attendance Update

Good attendance remains a key priority for us, as being in school every day has a significant impact on children’s learning, progress and wellbeing. Every lesson really does count, and even small amounts of missed time can quickly add up.

You will have recently received a Trust letter requesting medical evidence for appointments that take place during the school day. This is to help us ensure that attendance records are accurate and that absences are recorded appropriately. It also supports us in identifying patterns and ensuring that all children are accessing their full entitlement to education.

Thank you for your continued support in prioritising attendance and working in partnership with us.
