Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, we continue to live out our value on Serving Others, and it has been a real pleasure to see this in action. Across the school, both in classrooms and out on the playground, there have been so many wonderful moments where children have supported, encouraged, and looked out for one another.
We have also welcomed back our dyslexia specialist this week, who has been working closely with our Teaching Assistants. This is part of an ongoing programme of support, and investing in our staff in this way is incredibly important. By continuing to develop expertise, we ensure that all children receive the best possible support in their learning.
We were pleased to host the RNLI, who delivered an assembly focused on water safety. At this time of year, as the weather improves and children spend more time near water, this is a particularly important message. The children engaged really well and took away some vital knowledge that could help keep them safe.
Year 5 had an enriching visit to an allotment, which brought their Farm to Fork topic to life. Experiences like this help children to deepen their understanding and gain real perspective on where food comes from and the journey it takes to reach our tables.
It was also a reminder of how quickly the year is moving when Tempest visited this week to take the end-of-year class photographs. Time really does fly! While there is still plenty of the summer term ahead, it will be a busy and important period. We ask that attendance remains a priority, as this term focusses on consolidating learning and preparing children for their next steps and transitions.
Finally, we would like to wish all of our children taking part in the Exmoor Challenge the very best of luck this Saturday. We are incredibly proud of you, enjoy the experience and know that you will be brilliant.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Simon, our gardener. Over the years, Simon has worked with many staff and children on a wide range of gardening projects, truly making a difference to the lives of others and becoming a valued member of our community. However, Simon has decided that the time is right to focus on himself and is therefore stepping away from his role. I know you will join me in wishing him all the very best in his well-deserved retirement.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Mathew Harts
