Dear Parents and Carers,
We must start by saying, a huge well done to all 70 Pilton Bluecoat children who took part in the Trust Cross Country event alongside 277 children from across TEAM Trust.
You were spectacular! Your attitude, determination and sportsmanship were fantastic. You represented our school brilliantly and we are incredibly proud of you all.
We also had children take part in the Pilton Primary Cross Country Festival at PCC, with some fantastic individual performances and an amazing 2nd place overall as a school! What a brilliant effort.
Cross Country has been a focus in our curriculum this term, using our Head, Heart and Hands approach to help children reflect, coach one another and improve their technique. It has been wonderful to see this in action. For those wanting to keep practising, Barnstaple Junior parkrun takes place at Rock Park every Sunday at 9am. Who knows… perhaps we might make first place next year!
Our relationship with you, our families and community, is incredibly important to us. If you have a concern or worry, please speak to your class teacher in the first instance. We want to work openly and positively together to support your child.
We have also shared our Parent and Carer Code of Conduct with all families. This helps ensure that our relationships remain respectful, positive and focused on what matters most, our children.
Home Learning is now going out and we see this as an opportunity to develop independence, core skills, creativity and responsibility, qualities that will support children throughout school and beyond. We recognise that family life is busy, so it is about finding the right balance. If you have any questions, please speak to your class teacher.
Finally, some of our children head off to Germany this weekend. We hope they have an amazing time and create some wonderful memories. A huge thank you to the staff giving up their time and making these experiences possible for our children. We really appreciate your commitment, care and dedication.
Have a fantastic trip!
Kind regards,
Mathew Harts
